| | | | | Training, consulting and coaching people in organizations has been my passion for over 25 years. In 1960, I began the first 7 years of my career with Imperial Oil in sales, marketing, and management. But I started to find my true purpose in life when I accepted an assignment to design and facilitate leadership and team development programs for managers. An area of which I knew little. My willingness to embrace learning led to new opportunities. As an organizational development consultant with the Ontario Government's Human Resources Secretariat, I led numerous teambuilding, strategic planning, and organizational diagnosis projects. I designed and facilitated over 100 intensive five-day residential seminars on such topics as Performance Management, Assertive Communication, Managing Conflict, and Team Leadership, building the foundation to a career of doing what I do best. My choice to accept that one assignment over 30 years ago was life-changing. As I explored the opportunities for learning that I was to convey to others, I learned about myself and the limitations of my past programming. The more I learned, the more I discovered my gifts. What followed was the deepening of my relationship with myself, including my spirituality, and the awakening of richer relationships with others. The study of psychology and psychological types, particularly from a spiritual perspective, has been so transformative in my life that I have dedicated my practice to the personal and professional growth of high performance individuals, teams and organizations. As principal of KEN PENROSE & ASSOCIATES for the past 23 years, I have facilitated seminars with over 10,000 participants. The workshops have included The Myers-Briggs Teambuilding Workshop, Dynamic Presentation Skills, Effective Communications Skills, Advanced Influence Skills, and Raising Emotional Intelligence with the MBTI, to name a few. (Select "Team Development" from the menu for a complete list of available workshops.) I consistently receive feedback from workshop participants, describing my seminars as "inspiring, insightful and entertaining." (select "Client Accolades" for more feedback). I believe that this is largely due to the value I place on being empathetic, authentic and fully open! In doing so, my clients and workshop participants also open to new learning from the assessment feedback they receive, and embrace the potential for improving their life satisfaction. These values in particular hold great significance, since in 1996, my focus on dealing with organizational change, loss, and transitions was enhanced by a personal interest in hospice care and bereavement support. Subsequently my wife Marg developed metastatic breast cancer over a three-year period, ending in her death in September 2000. My experiences as her primary care-giver, and in grieving and mourning her loss, have led to my additional commitment to support others in their personal losses by also offering my services as a Grief Counsellor and Bereavement Educator (Visit www.embracinggrief.ca for more information ). It is my passion for personal growth and learning that has brought me my education, my experiences, and my extensive professional skills. I hold a personal commitment to stay on the learning cutting edge by studying with the masters in the fields of leadership and organization development in Canada and the United States, so that I can offer you the very most of my potential. I also stay informed and connected in the community of professionals, through memberships in numerous relevant associations (please see below). If you hold the same passion or have a true desire to improve the quality of your relationships - with yourself and with others, I hope that you will give yourself the gift of learning and transformation through the personality assessments I offer. | | |
